A mother was teaching her five-year-old how to use the traffic light. She told him to walk only when the cars stopped in front of him. When the lights for the car turned red, she held his hands tightly and they walked together. However, seconds later, a look of horror crossed and her face and she covered his eyes with her hands while they were walking.
You see, the green man was flashing.
AHA! I bet I fooled you into thinking that was some reflective entry thingamajingy, only to bring about what Mrs Hoe calls the dramatic turnback.
End of year ceremony today brought about a closure of sorts to the end of our official college year.
You probably felt a myriad of emotions, ranging from relief at having promoted, or perhaps anxiety at the looming Mother Tongue/PW OP/Sub paper you have to take, or even reluctance in some ways for the inevitable departure of classmates/friends you may hold dear.
Mrs Hoe's morning period was quite a reflective time I thought, to think about how Eleven has grown in more ways than one. From the moment when we were excitedly shouting our "Eleven, eleven" cheer in our dragonboat while rowing across the murky waters of Kallang, to the tireless spirit we displayed for our nacho chips during Alfresco, or maybe even the bucketloads of perspiration from the countless heaving and lifting of dusty old newspapers in the ulu ulu Jelampang estate, it was indeed these little moments that made the big difference. Yes, inevitably, there would be the disagreements and conflicts that arise, but I guess such trials and tribulations are part and parcel of the experience. In a way, perhaps there is some benefit all those grudges we may hold against people, because we did get to know the other sides of people. Which may or may not work to one's advantage, but hey, the people of Eleven are real and 3-dimensional. Everyone is unique and quotes Econs notes, highly diffrentiated in their own way. Perhaps now would be an appropiate time to put aside all those grudges/conflicts and start afresh. After all, what better time for reconciliation?
As to those who may not be in 2T11 next year, well, instead of mourning what you can't get, wouldn"t life be much simpler if we learnt to appreciate the things we had? So thank you for the Eleven Experience! It's amazing how 21 students from all walks of life are able to bond in such a short period of time. The crazy antics, the petty oh so cute squabbles, the bullying, driving our Math lecturers up the wall with our attention deficit syndrome, the unofficial choping of the Eleven canteen table, the random outbursts of laughter, but most importantly, the LOVE- it made my year in CJC paradise. Well, almost paradise since in heaven they have flying ice creams.
But I digress.
I hope you've enjoyed being a part of 11 just as I have ( I know you did)
I hope you soared on eagle's wings with me.

As tiring as mugging may have been, as lack-of-sleep as you are or as gloomy as you have been due to the upcoming promos and the preparation for it, PLEASE hold on, people! Although we are all (I assume :/) putting our lives on the line for this, all will seriously be worthwhile at the end of the day when your results are good enough to make you smile and heave a heavy sigh of relief. As much as I really hate to be politically correct to say this, like what Mrs Hoe told us earlier on, we are really all in this together, regardless of the differences we share or the dislike for any one, we are THE class of t-eleven'07. So YES, "if we hold on together, I know our dreams will never die". Hahaha. Ok, enough propaganda. This post has been set in a revolting politically correct tone, so far.
TIPS ON HOW TO PROLONG YOUR MUGGING LIFE:
-If you feel like you're burning out already, please kindly inform me and I will gladly set you on fire.

Zomg! So many stuff to do! Eh sorry for the update lag, the class had to study for the econs test on market structures (Perfect comp & Monopoly), of which we were given a death threat by Ms Lim herself ("straight from the horses mouth") IF we are to fail it. I see death looming above us all :(
Rubbish aside, here's what the class has been doing so far:
-Preparing for the Econs test on Market Structures (Perfect Comp. & Monopoly).
-Paper 1 poem comparison and analysis ('After the Titanic' by Dave Mahon and 'Titanic' by David R. Slavitt).
-Differentiation techniques tutorial (whole of it).
That's all I can remember. Will add on more later on if anything's been missed out. Oh btw, here are some tests which you will have to sit for when you're back:
